Selfless act creates chain reaction of kindness

A unique sign order at Vango Signs & Designs by The Cabot Group Remax led to a generous donation to New Dawn Meals on Wheels.

Over the past several months, financial insecurity and health concerns have been widespread throughout our community. However, businesses and individuals have been keen to spread joy through acts of kindness and donations to those in need.

Alexis Rudderham of The Cabot Group Remax placed an order at Vango Signs & Designs for signs that read “THANK YOU FIRST RESPONDERS” and “HONK IT’S MY BIRTHDAY”. The signs were distributed to the community to express gratitude and lift spirits during these uncertain times.

Touched by the generous act, Vango Signs & Designs decided to pay it forward by donating the proceeds of the purchase to New Dawn Meals on Wheels.

“We are so grateful for the work New Dawn Meals on Wheels does to combat food insecurity in our community,” says Mike Van and Jennie Dubitsky of Vango Signs & Designs. “Particularly at this time, we are impressed and inspired by how you rapidly broadened your programs and increased the number of people you serve.”

Since the state of emergency was declared in Nova Scotia, New Dawn Meals on Wheels has delivered 200 additional meals each week to seniors in need — a staggering 80% increase.
