Edward’s Story — New Dawn Meals on Wheels Volunteer
“It’s a great program and there’s a great need for the program. We see that and hear that every day.”
“I love volunteering with Meals on Wheels, I’m addicted to it really. I love all of the wonderful people you meet. I suppose you meet the odd cranky person too but the nice thing is after a couple of days you usually win them over.
“I find it really rewarding. It’s everybody’s concern to make sure that these people in our community are cared for and healthy and well. And what’s taking an hour out of a day, or two hours out of a day, to make sure that someone has more comfort in their life.
“The people who get their meals have some really wonderful stories to share too and they want to have someone to share them with.
“It’s a great program and there’s a great need for the program.
“We see that and hear that every day.”
